As was announced elsewhere, Cheesehead Dave’s “WGA/state in block letters” logo concept received the most votes in the second round WGA logo referendum, with Jacey7487’s “stylized g” proposed logo coming in a close second. As this was a non-binding referendum, the Board is currently discussing final approval of a new logo design.

The Board would like to thank everyone who voted for their input… participation in both referendums was excellent (128 in round 1, 168 in round 2). Those who did vote had difficulty choosing a single favorite from all the quality logo submissions that were created by our members.

Here are the complete results for both referendums held regarding a new WGA logo. (Remember that a first round referendum was held to narrow the field of potential new logos to 3 choices.)

Referendum 08-6: New WGA Logo Voting, Round 2

59 votes (35%) – Cheesehead Dave (WGA/state in block letters)

    51 votes (30%) – Jacey7487 (stylized g)

41 votes (24%) – PCFrog (update of current logo)

17 votes (10%) – Existing WGA logo (keep current logo)

Referendum 08-5: New WGA Logo Voting, Round 1

    33 votes (26%) – Jacey7487 (stylized g)

27 votes (21%) – Cheesehead Dave (WGA/state in block letters)

22 votes (17%) – PCFrog (update of current logo)

    19 votes (15%) – seldom|seen (tree)

8 votes (6%) – Cachelovskys (State outline with WGA)

7 votes (5%) – tyedyeskyguy (4 color state with log letters)

4 votes (3%) – PassingWind (sunrise over barn)

3 votes (2%) – Cachelovskys (camo state outline with WGA)

    3 votes (2%) – Michelle (3 states)

1 (1%) – rogheff (terrain map of state)

1 (1%) – tyedyeskyguy (green state with log letters)

0 votes (0%) – OuttaHand (Green & Gold “Found It”)

    0 votes (0%) – 2_Stand (Forward)

    0 votes (0%) – 2_Stand (WGA blue flag)

    0 votes (0%) – SammyClaws (paw)

I’m a n00b to WGA , so don’t take me too seriously; but I think that Cheesehead Dave’s logo with the Wi. State outline filled in with the 4 color scheme of Tyedyeskycrew’s logo would be awesome… Maybe the “G” WGA could be in the same 4 color geocache scheme, it’s symmetrical enough…

    Sorry for the late post…

By doing FUZZY math these two, which are amlost the same, got 58 votes. 😆

By doing the same fuzzy math on both of Cheesehead Dave’s submissions (exactly the same but a different color) had 86 votes and Jacey’s two submissions (exactly the same but a different color) had 84 votes.

And I list myself as one who is VERY glad that the “corrected” result is the same as the real result. In the future, we might want to avoid referendums where two available choices are almost identical.

Dave, I think you are getting confused by the fact that results for two separate referendums (first round and second round) are reported in the original post above. At no time did people have the ability to choose from two Cheesehead Dave logos or two Jacey logos. However there were some other “similar but different” logo designs to vote on in the first round. I’m sure this somewhat diluted votes for these folks, but it was their choice to submit multiple designs.

You’re right. Having both votes on the same post is a bit confusing.
