Is there a place where I can still find these logos? I would like to look at them again.

There’s no need to hire anyone to tweak. We have a real-live logo that huge companies would kill to have an equivalent of that hinted at their business goals and we’re bickering over kiddie stuff.
Finally,
Someone that agrees with me, I know the coin posting was a bit much, but we received it in the mail that day as a trade, and with my twisted sick sense of humor I thought it was funny.
I also worked in the print industry for over 10 years, and have a degree in marketing communications, and the “g” logo would be my pick if we actually needed to change the old logo, I guess I’m just old fashioned, I started with a old GPS12 that looked very similar to the one in the logo and It has grown on me.

07/31/2008 at 3:54 am #1891173Shouldn’t there be a a run off between the 2 top choices? I also like the “G”. Thou I also like the other, it does look like a copy of the WA logo.

11/16/2008 at 11:30 pm #1891177I look at the “g” logo and all I think is mass exodus out of Wisconsin. After all, to get to the cache one should follow the arrow…….

I like it. The brown threw me for a moment. wondered what it was to represent. Finally figured it out – the cows pies lying all over the fields!
01/07/2009 at 8:05 pm #1891180Bravo! Clean, professional, clear. I was always (and still am) a fan of the ‘g’ but I’m very happy with this outcome. Thanks, board and whoever else deserves it for arriving at this decision and seeing this through. Well done.
When can I start putting it on my cache pages?
01/07/2009 at 9:12 pm #1891181Look at it this way, Marc, they could have made the state yellow…if you’ve been around a farm, you know what I mean.
I’ll side with the minority of the BOD on this one. Well, actually I don’t know what their reasons were, but I’ll side with their vote.
To me, this logo looks old, staid, and tired. It reminds me of the old duo-tone newsletters I used to crank out for a client of mine more than 10 years ago before they made the “big upgrade” to full color.
The fact that it looks so similar to the Washington logo just adds to the “oldness” of this. And finally, if you take the text away and are just left with the graphic, it conveys nothing conceptually about geocaching.
I also hope we didn’t spend too much of the WGA budget for the designer on this one as well because, quite frankly, the original submitted version of this is nearly indistinguishable and, given the BOD decision, quite serviceable. Frankly, it looks like some simply took the original submission and clicked the little auto-color fill button over the state.
This is all a moot point, so let’s just look on the bright side. No one outside the WGA really gives a hoot about the logo anyway, and this is unlikely to catch anyone’s attention.
Yes, I know it reflected the majority vote of the referendum but, as Margaret Thatcher would say, “Consensus is the absence of leadership.”
On the Left Side of the Road...01/07/2009 at 9:32 pm #1891182I would like to thank the board for all their work in getting this done. The new logo is far superior to the old WGA logo.I personally think it looks great, even if the brown is a little odd. 😀 But since most times I get home from caching my jeans and floormats are stained that same color from the soil, I think it fits nicely.
Again, THANKS!
