So, a new year is upon us. What kind of caching resolutions have people have thought of for 2006? Are you going to do more or less park and ride caches? Are you going to log 1 event cache or 15 hides at an event?
I am not saying that any one way is correct, just curious what people have in mind for the year ahead.
01/02/2006 at 3:50 am #1760303Just one log for me. I started this about mid-year in 2005 after feeling increasingly “number-frenzied” at events.

01/02/2006 at 4:35 am #1760304Not sure what I want to do for the events yet. I think it is going to depend on the difficulty of the hides. As for other caching resolutions….
1. Get 10 more out in the area
2. Help some new cachers get theirs in place in the county
3. Reach 1000 finds this year.
4. Get a COUNTRY added to my list (that might be a toughy)
5. Lose 25lbs caching …guess I could always hide a 25lb cache LOL
6. Attend more events
7 Create more events
8. Be a WGA Board Member????This was fun.. now to work on the NONE caching resolutions!
Happy New Year Y’all!!
01/02/2006 at 2:54 pm #1760305Stepped on the scale yesterday for the first time in weeks. Down 10 lbs! Thanks to Trudy & The Beast for the late season prediction . As for this year, the caches will come. Hope to not lag so much on placing some.
01/02/2006 at 2:56 pm #1760306Oh. And we’ll be cached out to 50 miles. That’ll be easy in Central Wisconsin. We’ve only got 17 left as of today.
01/02/2006 at 3:56 pm #1760307We’re really looking forward to hitting the trails with our new addition this fall. We need to acclimate our child to the woods ASAP.
With the new addition will probably come some caching restrictions. Not as many:

Hope all is well with everyone!

01/02/2006 at 4:50 pm #1760308Well for me I intend to cache much more differently this year.
First off, I’m on the search for quality caches. Which means no more park and rides, micros on the side of the road, or puzzle caches. I want to be out on the trails and enjoying why we got into this sport to begin with. Not finding a quick grab just to inflate our numbers.
I would also like to discover areas of Wisconsin I have never set foot in. Find those neat out of the way places that only geocaching can take me too. Only because I would never discover them otherwise.
Events will only be logged as one find. My main focus will be to meet others. I really don’t see the need or have the desire to spend all day looking for temp caches.
There are probably more things I’ll think of as time goes on, but this a good start for me. Not sure what the rest of my family thinks…….

01/02/2006 at 6:03 pm #1760309We like your resolution Katrina. I think our real resolution will be to spend more time on the caches that capture our imagination. There are some good series we haven’t completed and others like High Brass and Pain In The Cache that sound like really nice days out. The Mountain area has some great multis and There’s a 3-legged Dog barking on the west side of the state. We’ve always liked long physical caches, especially multis, so we’ll just keep on keepin’ on there.
01/02/2006 at 7:14 pm #1760310I’m with you guys too. We love those 4&5/4 to 4&5/4.5’s. Not sure I have the right equipment for 5 on terrain though. Guess it’s a great excuse to buy a kayak!! I’ll skip the rope climbing though.
01/02/2006 at 8:57 pm #1760311I’m working on a 5 cache.
01/02/2006 at 9:29 pm #1760312i haven’t decided on the event cache logging yet, but i am not going to log those pocket caches anymore. i also am going to start using the ignore list a bit more, either for caches that are harder to find than i want to invest the time in, and cemetary caches, and maybe some of the micros.
