I recently received recognition for hitting #200 in in 2 months by a new geocaching friend whom I selected to hunt one of his as my 200th. But there is a new guy on the scene who makes me look like a slacker. I had the pleasure of meeting jstajlr when checking on one of my hides I had just placed. At that point in early September (9/1 to be exact) , he had only logged 6 finds. It just so happened he was FTF two of my finds that night and only had started a few days earlier. Thirty days later I placed another cache, and who do you think ends up with the FTF but jstajlr again…but this time not for #7 or #8…but for #200! WOW! Matter of fact, as I am writing this he is at #203. That is an average of over 6 caches a day! Talk about someone who is hooked. If he keeps this pace up, I’m thinking we’re going to have to hold an intervention! Way to go jstajlr! Glad to see you’ve dove in head first…but seriously…you need help. (‘’)

BTW – When are we going to see some hides from you, too?

200 in a month is awesome. Also obviously quick to get in / out because I was STF on one of their FTF and was only 38 minutes behind them and it’s a 1/3 – 1/2 mile hike each way.

I wish I had this much time – or maybe I’m going to have to quit doing the S|S, cheeto, etc. puzzles. 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛

BTW BakRdz – There’s a new cache in Berlin and should be live later tonight I hope. All is submitted and waiting for review. Set your clock early tomorrow.

Well done….I have been at it since May and still have not hit 200(192)!! I wish I would have been a cacher before I started my own business….it really gets in they way of caching!!

      Good work!

Thanks to all the well wishers. I am quite hooked and my goal was to try to get one each day. I guess it’s like Frito Lay chips I couldn’t stop at just one. I will be slowing down soon because yes I’m running out of caches in my back yard. I think it is about time to start constructing a few hides of my own. You guys and gals have set some high standards in quality caches. I have to say its not about racking up numbers though. I just love the places the caches take me. The out of the way cemetaries with interesting headstones and stories. Finding new parks and nature walks/woods has been very rewarding. The caches themselves have captivated me. The challenging puzzles, imaginative containers, the history lessons, locations, etc all have led to a mild addiction . And to think the only reason I started this was I bought a handheld to use for fishing and clicked on the geocaching link on Garmin. My first day I was 0-5 but the next day I found one micro and after that I was off to the races. I hope to meet all of you soon out on the hunt or at a meet and greet.

Congratulations on a quick start. We too got the GPSr for the same reasons, and after much prodding from Timberline Echoes to “use your GPSr for other things,” we hardly use it for its original purpose at all now!

We also enjoy the journey and discovery of the hobby.
