We’ve been advised that the Janesville — Arborfest event can’t also be turned into a Geocaching.com event cache by WGA2, but they suggested I post it here for people to express interest.

    Coordinates: N 42° 40.617 W 088° 59.615
    Date/Time: October 14, 2006 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
    Location: Palmer Park, Janesville, WI
Description: The Janesville Shade Tree Advisory Committee is hosting ArborFest on Oct. 14th in Palmer Park in Janesville, WI and Team Howling Beagle was asked to host a 10 x 10 booth on geocaching.

    Preliminary Event Information:
In addition to promoting geocaching with handouts, examples of cache containers, travel bugs, etc we decided what better way to bring awareness than to hide several temporary caches for our fellow geocachers to find in the park. A listing of the temporary caches will be available to pick up from Team Howling Beagle at the booth we’ll be hosting. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly where our booth will be at this time, but the above coordinates will take you to the pavilion where this event will be taking place. From there just look for the table with all the ammo cans & 35mm CITO containers. We hope to see many old & new faces!

😀 Glad to hear the Ecorangers are planning to stop in to say hi & hunt our temp caches at this event.

Please note — anyone coming to this — slight change — I’ll be by the newer pavilion on the other side of the pool. Coords will get you close though — just walk around the pool or drive around & park closer.

Thanks to Milo & Jacks as well as 1/2 of the Ecorangers team for attending this event & spreading the word! Hope you guys enjoyed the temp caches! One or two might become permanent ones.

All of the temp caches have been picked up as of 4:08 PM.

    Jon:
Great (non) Geocaching event. Thanks for taking the time to promote geocaching in the Janesville area. It was a great day to be outdoors. Princess and I enjoyed hunting the temp caches. Tami
Also, 😉 I did manage to snag the last Magellan Meridan Gold at Gander Mountain. Thanks again.

Thanks for coming & I’ll definitely give you some advance warning on the Spring Event at Rockport Park in Janesville. Milo & Jacks are going to help — thinking about some cool hidden in plain sight caches.
