One cool idea might be to have caches along the Namekagon. You can tube down the Namekagon, near the KOA and the KOA even rents tubes and goes down to the other end to pick ya up. Nothing is finer in the heat of summer than tubing down the Namekagon. Just an idea. Perhaps lame, perhaps not.
Looking forward to other alternative locations that Cheezehead can suggest.

NOPE-NODDA-CANT-YOU CAN GET A $150 TICKET. YOU CAN NOT CACHE ON THE RIVER OR NPR PROPERTY!!!!!!! More late, getting kicked of the puter.
06/08/2007 at 11:01 am #1875623That is that caches can not be placed on NPS property or in the boundaries
of the river way….for now. There has been some cases of cachers getting fined for doing so, but I have been trying to work with the local NPS office to see if this can be changed.I do have a location in mind and a few other, I’ll will try to get that info posted as soon as I can.
06/10/2007 at 10:55 pm #1875624Wow!! I never knew there were so many caches in Hayward. Great Cache concentration area. I might have to go there soon anyway to log some finds. I dont mind campin KOA style just for the record. Sounds like a great time. Plenty of ‘real’ caches for the #’s instead of the controversial ‘temps’. I hope its a weekend I can attend. I’ll be watching for further postings.
06/15/2007 at 12:33 pm #1875625count me in if there was a event in the northwest part of the state
06/15/2007 at 3:09 pm #1875626Depending on the date chosen, we might be interested, too. Like Mr. TE
(Trekkin’s brother), there are strong ties to that part of the state for us!06/15/2007 at 3:14 pm #1875627I’d be game for attending something in NW area if I can work it in the calender.
07/02/2007 at 6:34 pm #1875628My family has a cabin on Lower Eau Claire Lake, so I’ve been doing a little bit of caching in the area. It would be cool to meet some of the local cachers. I’d be up for the trip! 8)
07/17/2007 at 2:33 pm #1875629Just wondering if any dates have been firmed up on this. We’d like to come if we can, but our weekends are getting full with one thing or the other. TIA

No, not yet. I’m still waiting to hook up with Yuma and to show him possible sites. We have traded some emails on the subject thou. I;m thinking sometime next year as this area can still be nuts in September and October with events and that’s also the opening of many hunting seasons. I know Zuma would still like to hold something this year.
As soon as we figure something out we’ll let everyone know. I believe Zuma is going the Geo-bash which is coming up? I think? But I sure we will try to hook up soon. Thanks for the interest thou!
07/18/2007 at 5:10 pm #1875631Still hoping that there will be a picnic! The weekends are getting quite full, I’d love to attend (and help out) but as of now, my next free weekend is not until Aug 18.
07/19/2007 at 1:42 am #1875632Was able to talk to Zuma before he headed to Geo-bash. We discussed a lot of options. Trying to figure out a weekend is going to be a tough thing.
Maybe a week night meet and greet pot luck type of thing? There is a very nice County park-Fish Hatchery Park- that would be a great place to have something. So stay tuned for details. We get things posted once we figure out what the heck we are going to do! ๐ฏ ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐08/01/2007 at 2:27 pm #1875633Does August 18 work out for many people for an event in Hayward?

08/01/2007 at 3:17 pm #1875634Not us, but we’re just two people. Hope it is good for most who want to play!

Possibly. I don’t see anything on my calendar right now, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to convince my family to do it.
08/01/2007 at 4:44 pm #1875636We’ll still be in Alaska that day. Weekends after that would be best for us. We visited Hayward last weekend (and picked up a few TBs from Hayward Cheesehead to bring with us on our trip) and found a number of caches. We had enough fun up there that my wife wants to make another trip again there sometime soon.
