Okay here is the official site and info….
Not sure how you are suppose to know which caches are part of the official 18 except by checking out the date of approval. I will try to let the chambers know that.
Or I could just be missing something and it is obvious to others which ones have the punches in them.

03/01/2007 at 3:06 pm #1770963I have looked at the pages for the St. Germain area caches and WOW!! Great diversity in the level of difficulty and terrain, even a 5/5! GC1104P. Knowing the area where these caches are located, it will take the visitor to some under utilized areas of natural beauty. Visitors will truly be in the north woods away from commericalization. These will be some great caches even when the event is over-esp. the above mentioned cache . I look forward to them, and those in Rhinelander/Boulder Junction area too.
03/01/2007 at 5:46 pm #1770964Here’s a public bookmark list I created. This should help. Only the St. Germain caches had a nice logo identifying themselves as part of the hunt. I used the google map (http://www.northwoodsgeocaching.com/images/New-Caches.jpg) to figure out the rest.
03/01/2007 at 6:31 pm #1770965I have been e-mailing with them all morning. I have asked for a list to be made on the page that links to each cache and then said it would be wise to add a link to each cache page back to the event page.
Those muggles are really trying but don’t quite understand our language yet. 😆
Mrs. TE03/01/2007 at 6:58 pm #1770966Hi Cathy,
The bookmark list handles both of those requests. It’s just not that noticeable on the right side of the page. The St. Germain pages are the best with the logo, but the logo should be a link back to the main page.

Cathy03/01/2007 at 9:31 pm #1770968And here is a link to the list (Thanks, John!!)

03/02/2007 at 12:01 pm #1770969How about a snow on the ground and road condition report from that area?
03/02/2007 at 12:25 pm #1770970I’m guessing March 1 was a bit early to launch this event……
03/02/2007 at 12:37 pm #1770971We did get a few inches of snow yesterday, close to a foot on the ground… but nothing unusual ,pretty average for up here.
As far as the March 1st date that was dicatated by the grant it had to start then.
Main roads should be pretty clear by the afternoon. They are a bit snow covered at 6:30 a.m. No school cancellations here. So come on up!!!

Ah…forgive me I’m just bitter about the weather. LB7=snow hater.
I’m very excited to get up there to visit this summer/spring.
03/04/2007 at 3:13 pm #1770973Went hunting Up North yesterday, with Team Honeybunnies, Team Wheezer, and Goofy-2. Roads were in great condtions, except for Hwy 17 way up at the Michigan border.
Lots on snow on the ground, making for some hard work. Slogging thru foot deep snow is hard work. Then, having to dig for the cache is another whole issue.
We managed 5 FTF’s, and over 15 finds. Only one DNF, after seven people hunting for some twenty minutes.
