So, how about a little ‘quality over quantity’? Come on over to Selzzup, and have a ‘dangerous daze’ cache run. We can do all S|S caches, anyone of which might kill you!

Climbing trees, crawling in tunnels, down rabbit holes, along cliff edges, whatever!

Well Mr. 5 digits, I’m happy to report that I have placed a cache just for you that includes all of the above, is a puzzle with a challenge ALR and is just going to be sitting there waiting for you to go grab it. Maybe some night when you are All Strung Out from working on your mind-reading madness you can grab your flashlight, rock climbing powder, spelunking helmet and rappelling rope and go after it. What do you say, Old Man?

I think the numbers are more of a competition for me than anything else…that is with myself rather than anyone else. I go through phases of wanting to get a whole bunch done.. then life get in the way and I don’t have time for a couple of weeks, but I like the challenges that go with it. Its that competitive thing again!! One of the most fun things I have done are a couple of geocaching competitions at conferences where you are trying to find a bunch of temporary caches as quickly as possible, with the prizes being free conference entry for the next year. Now if there were more of those I would be in real trouble!! With two small kids and a full time job my time is limited but I try to include my kids where I can.. and drag my husband along once in a while too. I just love being outside exploring new places. Tomorrow I am making a trek out to Woodville to bike that cache-happy trail and I can’t wait! I guess the thing is whatever floats your boat!

Retired, have the time available, but lots of other things on the agenda. All things in moderation (except chocolate!).

Exactly the same with me…but if they’d allow chocolate to be put in caches, my numbers would undoubtedly be much, much higher[:D]

Chocolae is going to be worth more than money pretty soon – there is a disease effecting the cocoa trees, and about one third of them are no longer producing.

So, with the demand for chocolate going up, and production down, that means it’s $$$$$$

OPS, I couldn’t have said it any better. It’s a great perspective on balance.

Agreed. Well said. I tried to put together a reply for this thread a couple days ago and gave up for the moment. Didn’t have the time to give it then. Someone else mentioned phases. All of our games evolve. Change is inevitable. Some have more time and resources to spend. Some want to stay married, or keep their jobs, at least till blissful retirement. Along with my latest phase of “picking and choosing” a bit more, though I do relapse now and then, I have rediscovered some of the other things I used to share more with my family. Balance is important, but we are all different and need to pick and choose what works well for each of us.

Got to add to what I said earlier… I LOVE caching even more when I can do some great exercise and find caches at the same time… kayaking, snowshoeing, running up hills.. and today was 5+hours of biking. Who needs the gym when you do that for a day?!

and yup – got past 500:D !! It was fun but very tiring!! no idea how people do more that 40+ a day!!
