So, we decided to get one of these, and amazingly enough, with a link from wywrdsn, I was able to get it loaded with caches using custom poi loader with minimal hair pulling.

What I’d like to know is this…is there a way I can get the map to show all the POIs at once, so that I can make some choices on the road about which way to go? Is there perhaps another macro that does this?

(I’m just excited that I now kind of get what a macro actually IS!)

      Thanks.

Yes, kind of…If you load them into favorites instead of POI, then they all show up on the map, which is useful, as you say. However the downside is too big to want to do this, which is, ya gotta delete each one, one at a time, and you loose all the cache info that you get with the macro. I found this out by accident, and am not sure how I did it, but I know it is possible, but not desirable.

      Zuma is right.

Basically … stick with what you have … the down side is too great to mess with other options.

This is the one thing (and the only thing) I don’t like about my Nuvi, the fact that you can’t easily see a screen full of caches … you have to zoom in real close to see the cache symbols … so close that it doesn’t provide any benefit, basically by that point your almost in walking distance to the caches.

Okay, I guess since we’re planning to use the handhelds once we get close, we can look at the boxes there. Hopefully I’ll be giving it our first test run tomorrow on a trek to the east!
