The Bay of Fundy is famous for scallops and agates. when the tide is out the place comes alive with clammers and agate hunters. There are whale watching tours all over the place as it is the only place that certian types of whales come in the summer time. The tidal bores on the rivers are very impressive too.
Posting a link to a rockhound page about the bay…..mostly for me to find here later. This really sounds like a neat place…but keep em coming…
08/07/2009 at 3:06 pm #1911993Here are 2 in Northern Maine
Fundy Tidal Seiche GC1WM0F (note: this is a 5/5 cache) FTF is still possible!
Fundy Tides GC15114 (This is a 3.5- 3.5)
This last cache is surrounded by at least 10 other Earth Caches within a short distance.
Further south in Maine near Bar Harbor:
Blue Hill Tidal Falls GC17X1E
Here is a link to tidal charts if that will help you.

You won’t be disappointed. Another plus… Maine Lobster is only $2.99 a pound right now! My sister lives there and the stores usually push it for Thanksgiving because it is actually cheaper than Turkey! It tastes much better fresh from the Lobster Pound too.
