Condolences to Barry & Val and all the others who worked hard to share some Christmas spirit with the community. Some thoughtless person or persons put forth a lot of energy wrecking and destroying something pretty nice.
Just gotta wonder if these are the same folks that are vandalizing and stealing caches. There’s been way too much of that, too, in Oconto County, from the northwest to the southeast corners.
Hopefully they’ll get caught by the law and dealt with. It’s probably better for them if the police get them rather than the locals…
cYa, Jim & Chris
We ended up spending a better part of the day yesterday fixing all the lights and moving the decorations from the trees that were cut down to other trees that needed some decor. fixed many strings of lights, many were destroyed to the point that they were junk. about $2000 worth of lights. and the cost of the 11 trees. So far there have been many donations in time and materials, in Spring the trees will be replaced. A local tree farm that had recently closed, has offered new trees to transplant. It was very sad to see the damage they caused.
Saw the pics on FB. Someone is never getting off the naughty list.
