We have been working hard here since Thursday Night, cleaning debris and answering fire calls, but finally had time tonight to sit down and look at the maps of the Tornado route and compare them to GC.com listings. We checked on ours that was just a bit south of the route, but otherwise all caches in the area should be un harmed. When you have time come up and check out the destructive nature of a tornado, it was a F3 22 Miles long and averaged .8 miles wide ( 2 miles wide down to .5 miles ) No major injures were reported during the storm or the cleanup after. 2 houses were completely destroyed, 20 or so have heavy damage and another 20 have moderate damage, many have minor damage.

As a member of the Riverview Fire Dept. we would like to thank all who came to help clean up this weekend and also who donated to the red cross or gave donations to Wells Fargo Bank to help those who did not have insurance.

Glad to hear there were no major injuries. My thoughts are with everyone.

Thanks for the update. After the tornado a few years ago in Siren, Tactical Squirrel put out a few caches in the tornado’s path, that were kind of interesting, and pointed out what he saw as a cop.

There were a lot of tornados that day, but none here in Eau Claire. However, I was at work at the hospital when they called the warning, it was real interesting. I was taking care of a patient on maximum life support, ventilators and about 6 IVs and a bunch of other stuff. We had to move him and all the equipment into an interior hallway, so it was quite an adventure. But,thankfully, it was little more than a drill here, and we didnt even get any rain here, though there were high winds and rain quite nearby.

Glad to see you post on here and that you came out of it ok. I was watching the storm track on Thursday and saw it nearing Mountain and was thinking about you two. I am glad to hear that there were no major injuries from the storms, that was a scary situation.

Grandma and our adult daughter were at our cottage just west of Townsend Thursday night. No problems there other than no electricity for awhile, but it was scary… Certainly our thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered loss, we consider ourselves very fortunate.

Drove though this area today. It was a mess I may try and get up there to help this weekend Reminded me of Hurricane Charlie clean up two years ago when i helped my dad in Florida but instead it was Palm tree’s instead of Pine Tree in our back yard..

I was up there that day with my Miata. Needless to say that I headed home well before the storm hit. I hope to make some time Monday or Tuesday to cut some trees on Tar Dam Road.

I could not believe the devastation that happened in the path of the tornado! 😯 I have a house that was similar to the one the owners of the Halfway Bar had. It is unreal to see no house from the highway!

My place is roughly 7.5 miles from Halfway and the highway 64 damage. I was lucky to have 2 trees down and no power outage. I just can’t imagine the amount of clean up that will need to be done in all of that timber area.

My heart goes out to all involved! ❗
