Those that attended the recent camp-out were given durable name tags.
I’ve worn mine on several occasions since, and have been approached as how to obtain one. The people in the sauna were really impressed .
The questions are:
What is the official policy of the WGA as far as future distribution of tags.
Will future picnics and/or camp-outs have a tag distribution?
Can one be obtained for a donation?
Can replacements be requested?
I think it would be a good idea to offer name tags to members on a by-request basis throughout the year. This would be a great way to encourage Wisconsin geocachers to join the WGA. Basically we could set up a web form where people could request their name tags (or replacement name tags) and we’d make up a batch occasionally (once a month?) and mail them out.
In fact, I posed a similar question to the Board about providing name tags back before the campout:
Jeremy’s Old Post
I think we have some extra ID tag “sleeves” left over from the Geo-Campout, so we could make some name tags for the Geo-Picnic without any additional costs to the organization. But as far as I know the Board has not yet committed to providing the laminated nametags for all Geo-Picnic attendees…
While not “committing” to it; I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t keep providing laminated nametags. I believe this was the intent. For now we may just hand them out at events and work on something for the future.

Clipped to your chest hair, I’m sure. 😛
The nametags would cost about a buck each to make, plus we’d have to add some shipping fees.
I’m not opposed to making them on demand, however, we’d probably have to take batch orders. It would be a waste of forms to print out one tag at a time. I think we get about 10 name tags per sheet, so we’d need that many orders before we go to press.
Since they cost the WGA about a buck each, we need people to keep using them over and over, event after event. We will probably see a larger turnout at the 06 picnic, so it may be cost prohibitive to make so many for free.
A lot would depend on how many people register and how many people need tags.
