I know Zuma and WI Robin have done these—-the map function isn’t working right now, so I’m wondering if someone has a general idea of how far apart 20 inches and the last one on this trail are apart?
I suppose we could take our bikes, but that would make too much sense!
Our 20-year old son is back home and willing to go along with us for a few caches, and doesn’t have a bike to ride. TIA
We’re hoping to do these and the Sugar Loaf ones in Winona during our spring break this week. Co-workers are going to Destin FLA, Ireland, Mexico. We’re living large and going to Winona and/or Hustler!
Talking to myself. I figured out something brilliant, at least for me. Put in the first cache on gc.com, look for nearby caches and isn’t it amazing how the distance from your gz is listed on the left hand side of that page?
Not enough coffee yet, I can see!
Of the 6 new ones, WI Robin and I parked twice, and walked to the caches. It might be possible to save a few feet of walking by tresspassing and bushwhacking, since the road kinda runs along the trail, but it would not be worth it.
On the day we were there, walking was better than bikes. There was a lot of mud on one section, and there was still ice in the tunnel. The distances were fairly short.
The older caches on the trail, near Hustler would probably be a tak better by bike, and we did just one of the three. However, all 3 could easily walked to, from 3 seperate parking spots.

We just did these yesterday and from 20 inches to Park and cache was about about 3 miles. We biked and found the trail to be passable. But watch out for the ice in the tunnel and a large patch of mud just after the tunnel on the Elroy side. The trail is slightly up hill if you park at 20 inches and head towards the Park and Cache cache, making the return trip enjoyable.
