Well, I figured out one more thing that you should always carry with you while geocaching, out in the woods or anytime you leave the house.
Any guesses what this item may be?????????????
A spare key to your car/truck!!!
I was out the other day just doing some snowshoeing back in the middle of nowhere. I usually take my truck keys off my key ring and put them in my pocket. This time I did take off a set of keys……..just NOT MY TRUCK KEYS!!!! 😯 😯 😳 🙄 😕 😕 😕 🙄 🙄 I can’t use my cell phone cuz it’s locked in the truck. And I’m 2 miles or more from the closest phone. * DING DING* OH Ya! I have that extra key in my wallet!! And it works too! So my suggestion is to always have an extra key on your person cuz ya just never know when you ya gonna need it.

See if you can find out what that magnetic device is called. It sounds like it would be a good micro cache container. What will they think of next? I heard a rumor that there were waterproof boxes that the military kept ammunition in. I’m not sure what they are called either.

Is that what those things are meant for?

Ya know what thou…..they fall off! I know of a few people that has happen to and also a good way to get you car stolen. Think about it. How many people put an extra key under the door mat or above the door. Not an original idea for a placement.

I know…I was just funnin’ I actually carry a spare in my pocket just in case while caching.
03/08/2008 at 6:02 pm #1885860I only drive with my spare set. To me it saves headaches down the line from something more serious happening.

Use it to tape a spare key behind your front license plate.
😳 OOPS..I revealed my secret.

(Make sure you bring your wallet!)
03/09/2008 at 7:01 pm #1885863The Tapps can tell you a similiar story. Luckily my folks were having dinner at a restaurant not too far away and could come to our rescue. The Tapps went back in Spring several months later and actually found his keys about 30 feet from the cache.
Also, when buying your next vehicle .. keyless entry works well.
Oh, yeah, TamCo will tell you that you do need to know that code. Nice to have keyless when you lock your keys inside the car but then you need to know the code .. AAA came in handy that day.
Have fun

03/28/2008 at 12:45 am #1885865I have a magnetic key bon on my vehicles. When I traded in my last truck that was 5 yrs old it was still where I put it. It is not in the usual easy to get to locations which is why I also carry an extra pair of sweats, shorts, t shirt & sweatshirt inside. 😆
