With so many good candidates this year I cannot make up my mind. ONe thing that I would like to know to get to know you as a person, not the Caching Machines that we see on the boards and meet at events. So here goes….

Aside from all that you do for Geocaching, What are you currently doing to make the world a better place?

    Thanks for the question Jim.

Over the last year my wife and I have been actively attempting to start a Tourette’s Syndrome support group in Wisconsin. Our son was diagnosed with Tourette’s about 3 years ago and we found that there were no tourette’s support groups in Wisconsin! (at least none that the national TSA is aware of) There was one in the past based out of Fond Du Lac but currently there is no group for those diagnosed to turn to locally or even regionally in our state.

We’ve had some local meetings but it’s still not fully up and running yet.

We’re actively seeking a third board member for our group to be able to register with the TSA and begin to receive many more benefits to be able to help others. There is a need, we just have to figure out how to reach that need and stay effective.

Outside of that and taking care of my family, I spend 40+ hours a week helping a major packaging corporation stay operating by supporting and improving the mechanism in which all of their hard working employees get paid. Without this company, many (most perhaps) of the foods you enjoy today would not be on the shelf, in the freezer, or fridge.

    Welcome to my little world.

Because I am currently only substitute teaching and officiating, I can usually make my own schedule of work and play. On days that I don’t sub, I tutor students outside of school who have been suspended or are on pre-expulsion plans. That way, once/if they are reinstated, they are still up to speed with the rest of the class.

I am also an active member of the Lions Club. Two of the focuses of the LC are Diabetes and vision. This is near and dear to my heart due to multiple family members with diabetes. My father passed away last February from complications arising from diabetes. Both he and my grandfather were Lions members when I was a child, and my grandmother is a Lioness, so I take extra pride in being a member.

    Thanks Jim for the question.

I work as a Copier/Printer Network Technician, as my full time job. I also do some contract two way radio work. I have been a service Technician since right out of Highschool.

I also help out when I can with Various groups. I was a Past Vice President of the Nicolet Rifle Club, and helped build Target frames, Re-Roof the Clubhouse, and alot of other things around the range, and Club.

I am also an amateur radio operator, and help to maintain Four Radio Repeater stations that provide emergency communications in the Eastern Side of Wisconsin.

I think this is a good Question Jim, as it will allow people to get to know each and every one of us better.

Along with my own training in TaeKwonDo, I do some assisting in training the younger children. Instilling confidence and self-discipline in these youngsters, giving them traits that will benefit them throughout their lives.
one of our tenets is “I shall build a more peaceful world”

I also am active in our congregation. Rotating through a quarterly teaching assignment for Wednesday night Bible study, bimonthly rotating as the worship song leader and even sometimes delivering the message on Sunday morning when needed.

I have also been a captain/co-captain and member of our hospital’s Relay for Life team for the American Cancer Society for the past 8+ years.

Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.

Beyond geocaching, I am a scouting volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 851 in Plymouth. I am the advancement chairperson which means I’m in charge of recording as well as getting the merit badges and rank advancements for the scouts.
