“Just starting looking when the lady inside came out to see how we were doing. Made the find then had a nice conversation about geocaching. They knew it was there but did not understand its purpose. They retrieve the cache for each of their meetings and review the contents to see how it has changed. We gave her info about geocaching.com adn how to contact the owner for more information.

I love how they bring the cache in at the meetings and look at it even though they don’t really understand it. Have you heard similar stories?

I’ve done a couple where they are close to homes and residents come out going “are you doing that geocatching thing??”. One guy in dale or medina came out and started giving me hot/cold after a while :>

What meetings do they take the log inside for? It looks like the cache is in a tree near a old SOO line caboose.

Sounds like something ritualistic, kind of like the black monolith bit at the start of “2001: A Space Odyssey”

I think it’s ON (or under) the train, Mike. It should probably go on your list.

There is this cache GC1CAWQ and we were on a road rally. One of the clues for the rally had to be found in the cemetery. There is a lady who lives next door who kept coming out for every person who entered the cemetery to try to help them find the cache. The clue for the rally was close to the cache site and when she came out when we were there, we just laughed because we had already found it a couple of months ago. None of the other people on the road rally were geocachers but they knew we were and asked us questions about it.

There is museum that the train car is next to. The cache is hidden on the train car. It is an ammo can and it is full of things for them to look through. There was also a camera in there that the cache owner developed when done and left the pictures in there. I imagine it is a historical society meeting or something of that type.
