Ok I’m planning an event for 4/30/05 with EcoRangers (a shameless ad). We are each planning our own hides, with secrecy from each other … so we’re talking about 2 (or maybe more) separate themes, sets of circumstances, and areas isolated from each other.
I believe this will provide an opportunity for geocachers to sub-divide themselves … seeking one theme in the morning and another theme in the afternoon, for example.
The need for Opinion …
#1 Would geocachers at the event like to see some kind of “check in board” that shows who’s seeking Theme-A and who’s seeking Theme-B. Thus allowing people to divide themselves up better, to cut down on crowding. Is this worth the effort, or should we just let the “laws of luck” divide teams up?
#2 If you think the answer to #1 is, “yes make a check in board”. Should it indicate the name of the cacher for the geo-world to see, or do you want to stay anonymous with just a dot in one Theme or the other Theme?
PS – One bit of good news to avoid over bunching at any given temp hide … my half of the hides are designed to send people off on multiple sub-themes, so there will be some built in randomness of who’s doing what and when, already. Stay tuned … we hope to release the event page in early January.
