Was thinking of maybe hosting a Paperless Geocaching ‘clinic’. I don’t purport to be an expert. I use Palm OS and Plucker, and am aware that there is Windows CE, and cachemate, and on and on. Anybody interested in doing/showing what they do to me and other people who are new to caching and/or veterans who want to get into paperless. Perhaps I would learn a few new tricks as well!
Maybe we should call it a Roundtable instead. This would be in the Madison area. I’ll bring my laptop and have it at a wireless hotspot (coffeeshop?) You may bring your laptop as well if you have one, and/or your PDA, sync cord, and GPS and any required software.
Anybody interested in sharing ideas in this fashion? I’ll even make it an event so we can call it a find. I know there was supposed to be one in Milwaukee but not sure if that one ever happened?

03/27/2004 at 2:23 am #1746532I’d be interested, even though I don’t have a PDA yet, but I’d like to see how each one works so I know which one to put on my birthday wish list.

03/27/2004 at 2:36 am #1746533I asked for a Palm Handheld and this is what I woke up with Christmas morning-
No Batteries Required.

03/27/2004 at 3:26 am #1746534Depending on when it is I would be happy to bring along my Dell Axiom and show how I do it with Pocket PC Windows.
All you would need on your laptop is a downloaded query and Gpx Spinner. If the laptop has a USB port I could bring my SD and CF mini drive so it could be demonstrated.
A lot easier from what I understand.03/27/2004 at 3:39 am #1746535I’d sure like to attend. Will be out of state from 4/1t4/10, but other that that I need help with my PDA.
03/27/2004 at 3:22 pm #1746536Can’t do anything to help — sorry — but might be interested in learning.
If anyone would be attending with a Garmin iQue, I would love to see how that unit works for going paperless. I can’t really justify owning a PDA. My life doesn’t require it. But if I could find the slightest justification to buy Garmin’s unit, I just might!
So if you’re going to attend and have one of those, please e-mail me or post your intent here.
