Hi all I just acquired a Handspring Treo Palmpilot and was wondering what I need to do to download caches to it. I can hot-sync it to my computer but that is about it.
Thanks in advance,
Chuck (The Hike and Seekers)
My recommendation is to get CacheMate for the PDA http://www.smittyware.com and then get GSAK for your PC http://www.gsak.net
Get the paid subscription at http://www.geocaching.com to get the PocketQueries.
Download the PocketQueries to CacheMate and install to PDA.
Use same PocketQueries to put into GSAK that will then load into GPSr.
This way both PDA and GPSr are in sync.
That is the simple version. There are a lot of technical writeups that can be found on this subject.

I just went through this process of figuring it out the other night so if you need any detailed advice, send an email or PM. It really isn’t as hard as you might think and after only a week of using it, it is DEFINITELY worth it.
Good luck!

Also … when you get use to it, it doesn’t take much time.
For the heck of it, I timed myself … I can prepare the file I get emailed to me for processing; delete the old waypoints from two GPSrs and one Palm and upload to all three devices in about 12 minutes. In my case, I’m always upload the 350 closest caches that I’ve not found yet (so that I have a variety of directions I could head).
Thanks to all of you that replied I downloaded cachemate and GSAK I should be in business shortly.
Happy caching,
Chuck (The Hike and Seekers)
