Batcolumn caused BIG problems — here is a quote from a cacher just prior to the cache being archived:
“This cache along with three others are gone. After I found this cache I received a phone call from the Department of Homeland Security 😯 asking if I placed a package under a mailbox.
I then was interview for 3 hours by the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, Chicago Police Department because security at the SSA building thought it was a bomb.
CPD closed 5 blocks and even had Bomb and Arson come out with their robot to look at the cache.
It was not a pleasant experience to go through this to say the least. It was a very stupid place to hide a cache. I was very stupid to look for this.
I’m lucky that I was not arrested. It could have been real bad.
The Federa Agent now understands the game but said you should think before you place a cache and look for one, especially in the Chicago area post 9/11. “
Zounds! On the light side, I just have this image of Bomb and Arson blowing up a Lock N Lock filled with McToys. 🙄
