Have you had any difficulty getting permission from the municipalities to place caches? I’ve been waiting since late December for permission in the City of Brookfield. It has to go to the park board for approval.

I havn’t heard of to many people that have got permission to place caches. Most caches are placed “Don’t ask – Don’t tell”. I hope that you have good luck getting permission, that way future caches hopefully will be easier to place there. Mark

I’ve heard several cachers mention that their local city parks had a lack of response when contacted about Geocaching. In my personal opinion, if I didnt receive a ‘NO’, I would place the cache. City Parks are usually high traffic areas with lots of volunteer trails. I get the impression that city parks are not too concerned about our activities.

Well, I did get permission. The wait was merely a formality. It didn’t seem like much of a problem. quote:

What was the nature of the approval? A phone call, a letter etc? From what authority: police, parks, common council? Suitable for framing?

No, just a phone call, though I had called and written a letter. I was talking with the head of parks for the city and he just wanted to bring it up at a parks board meeting which is why it took so long. quote:
