So apparently I’ve exceeded my limit on photobucket, which has removed all the links on cache pages and such. No big deal, except…..we have some puzzle caches that had photos that were the puzzle. They’ve been disabled for the moment. Is there another way besides finding a photo hosting site to include photos on a cache listing? I don’t want to pay the premium cost for photos on a photo hosting site. Thanks!
07/17/2017 at 1:30 pm #2055699I have a different but similar problem. Many of my puzzles have hints built into pictures I use in the description or sidebar. I’m finding more and more of them are turning up blank even though they still appear on the original host page with the same url.
Being Mac people, we have also hosted pictures on our storage there. Another choice could be on your Drive that is built into every Google account. I’m not sure, but I would think Microsoft would have something similar built in with Live accounts.

Miraculously, when Trekkin’ went through and removed all the broken links left behind, the puzzle cache pages had the images re-appear. Maybe that deleting dropped my upper limit or something, but it’s still something I need to explore. On the GC Help pages, they talk about a way to host photos within the cache page. Maybe I’ll see how that all works. Thanks!

07/26/2017 at 8:50 am #2055777You can use geocaching dot com as your photo storage site. Upload the photos as a note to one of your archived caches. Then link your active newer cache pages to the photos on the archived cache photos.
I use a paid site, Smugmug.com, which I love. But if you want free, then storing them on an archived cache is the way to go!
08/15/2017 at 8:29 pm #2055962I use either the cache listing itself or my own personal webserver. Since you don’t have the second option. You can upload the photos to the cache page listing itself.
Photo 1: Where to upload photos
Photo 2: Where you can find them(It is the Upload link and the edit link next to it). You can then right click and find something along the line of “copy link address” or “copy link” or whatever your OS/WebBrowser shows, and then you can use that link like you did the photobucket link. Or if that provided HTML code you would want to past where the following example has LinkHere. ex.
