11/03/2003 at 1:50 am #1739636After copying the html referred to in the previous post, go to your geocache page in which ypu wish to add the logo. Go to the edit feature and place the cursor where you want the logo to appear. Paste the html in this location. Then, within the editing page you should find the following. ‘If you do supply html you will need to check the box below for the text to render correctly.
The descriptions below are in HTML ‘. Make sure to check this box. Save the edited page.
It is simpler than it sounds.11/03/2003 at 1:19 pm #1739637After i’ve done that, which was no problem, I lost the formatting of the text on the page. How do you format text on a page with html?

Formatting text in html requires knowledge of the basic markup tags. For an explanation, see this page: http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/General/Internet/WWW/HTMLPrimerAll.html It may seem daunting at first, but for cache pages you can get by with a few of the simple ones such as paragraph breaks.

11/04/2003 at 3:59 am #1739640Okay Tenner, now that you know how to do it, you can show us! Maybe you could make it the second event cache for Green Bay!!!!
11/08/2003 at 10:49 pm #1739641YES! We did it! It really is simpler than it sounds. So much for that event cache idea….
11/10/2003 at 9:05 pm #1739642So, now that we know how to put the WGA logo on our cache page, could someone help us out with placing a picture on the cache page?
We have a few more quandries, but one thing at a time…
11/10/2003 at 9:09 pm #1739643I guess I should clarify. We know how to post pictures, but we don’t know how to have a picture on one of our cache pages appear when someone looks at it. For example, High Cliff CampOut has a group photo appear when opened.
I’m itching to learn more! Thanks!
11/11/2003 at 1:02 am #1739644Some users might not care for images on the cache pages because of the added paper it takes to print out the cache page.
But if you still want images on your cache page, I’ll try to explain:
1. You have to place an image where it can be accessed, and seen, each time the cache page is viewed. One place to store an image is the photo album found on WI-Geocaching web page. http://wi-geocaching.com/cgi-bin/slide2/album.pl Follow the directions on this page for uploading images.
2. Once the image has been uploaded, you have to figure out the ‘address’ for the image. Go back to your photo album, click on the picture you want to include so that it appears in the browser.
3. Right click on the image. Choose ‘properties’.
4. In the ‘General’ properties look for ‘Address (URL). It will look something like http://img.groundspeak.com/user/display/85278_600.jpg.
5. Copy that URL.
6. Now, go back to the cache page into which you want to place the image. Go into editing mode.
6. In the editing box type
7. You have to include the greater and lesser signs as well as the quotes. The information between the quotes is the URL of the image you located in number 5 above.
8. In the editing section of the cache page, place a check mark in the box infront of the words ‘The descriptions below are in HTML’
9. Save the new cache page.Phew, that got to be longer than I expected. There may be a quicker way.

11/16/2003 at 12:04 pm #1739645Can’t wait to try that.
12/27/2003 at 10:51 pm #1739646Bumping this back to the top…
I tried to find the page that explains putting the Placed by in your cache description from the main pages of the site but I could not find it. I eventually remembered that I originally saw this in the forums and had to go down a bit but her it is! Can we link the Placed by FAQ page from the other Hiding a Cache Page that is found on the Main page? (Wow, I’m not sure if I follow that…)
