I can third that one too. A good place for a fish fry is in Milwaukee/ West Allis. Magoos sports bar it is located at 92nd and National Avenue. or if you are up in Crandon go to the Wild Rose don’t have cords or street names just know how to get there.

the wild rose is on Cty W between Wabeno and Crandon

From Wabeno go West on Hwy 52 to W and it is about 5 Miles, from Crandon 32 south to W and it is 5 to 7 miles. Good place to go eat after finding the end of the earth cache it is on Roberts Lake

Another good place to eat in Lakewood is Mulligans Sports Bar
the wings are great 10 flavors to choose from and any other thing on the menu is good too, they make their own pizzas

For the people with a BIG appetite there is also the restaurant called The Log Cabin Inn located in Crandon. Pancakes the size of my head and anyone who has been caching with me knows the size of my head. (its Huge) not that i am big headed i just have a huge melon LOL

What about having a special section on the forum main page labled like “regional dining”?

Then within that section have it broke down like how the regional forum is with the different areas.

Then with in those forums have posts for like breakfast; lunch; dinner; fish fry; steak/prime rib; kids food (gotta make the kiddos happy with their food too….if the kiddo isnt happy aint no one gonna be happy); ice cream & desserts; coffee haus; bar/bar food (burgers; wings; ect); quirky out of the way places; ect; ect.

I know that might look like alot but broken down it is simpler & easier to look over if you are in a certain mood for food while out caching around the state.

But this is a good topic to discuss seeing that I use http://www.foodspot.com to look for places near caching areas that I am in. Bad thing is most of the time the places listed once you get there has been closed for some time & no one has updated the post.

I will have to try 2-b’s in wabeno never been there have to try it. Funny I have been going to Crandon/ Wabeno for about 15 years now and most people I talk to who have been there never heard of the wild rose. back in the day Grants maple 2 inn was a good spot but I think it has been closed now for some years. bummer good food.

Is this idea being discussed? Maybe we need an area where the Board can communicate to the group what things it is currently working on / discussing so the rest of know if our ideas matter.

It was….and concrete suggestions were made…then more burrocracy was added to the process and discussion fell apart.

That is what I like to hear. Summer travel time is approaching and I would love to plan some travel around caching and good places to eat in the beautiful state of wisconsin.

I used to live at the end of the road right next to Wild Rose. That would be how I know about it 🙂
