I recently posted a personal best 6 U turns made for a single cache. Can anyone beat that?

I went around the same block 5 times… does that count?

Wow, that looks like it was nasty, I am glad that you and the other driver were both ok.

You’re now the second person I know of who has had an accident directly related to geocaching. I’ll admit that I input coords while driving. I think I’ll stop that practice.

    Thanks for the reality check.

    Same here…

Yowza, I need Trekkin’ to see this! I’m glad you are alright…and hope you’d found most of the caches you were seeking that day. 😉

i had my geocaching accident 2 years ago in ripon. partly it was the gps telling me to go straight and the road signs telling me to turn left with the construction. unfortunately i was in the right lane and the guy behind me to the left was going straight when i decided to follow the road signs and not the gps. i watched this car getting bigger in my side mirror and couldn’t figure out what was going on. pow. $2000 worth of body damage. but i did another cache that day, just to settle down.

I guess that I’m lucky Lancelot and I go out as a team. I play with the maps and gizzies while he drives.

So glad the car was the only thing murdalized, Cheeto. Hope the insurance gets you a new one soon.

I have new wheels and I am not afraid to use them 😀

Just bought my next vehicle last night… I am happy now!!

Beware, I may be back on the road today. Having withdrawl pains the last couple days.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and responses.

Glad to hear you are ok, and sorry to hear about the accident.

I was on my way home from thanksgiving dinner Thursday night, and there was a small truck swerving all over the road. The guy was taking up two lanes, so I was afraid to pass him on the freeway.

I was just about ready to call him in as a drunk, when I could see a lit object bouncing around on his dash. I figured the goof was watching a dvd player as he was driving. As I got closer, I could see the guy was trying to punch data into a GPS, and the suction mount keep coming off the windshield.

As he was trying to reposition the GPS, he was taking up two lanes on the freeway. It’s a good thing no one was in the lane next to him while this was happening.

It’s funny how little things can seem so important at the time. Repositioning a GPS, looking for a place to do a u-turn, sending a text message, spilling your coffee, reaching for something you dropped, turning around to talk to someone in the back seat. When the timing is right (or wrong), this can spell disaster.

Thanks for the timely reminder Cheeto.
