Our office is a bit afraid to get involved with Vista too. We have two IT guys and both are saying avoid Vista until Dell won’t sell us XP any more. In fact we deal with a couple web-based database that we must access that just plain will not work with Vista that some of our employees have at home.
Quick Install for Palm Desktop, will Just Not Work under Windblows Vista!…
Well, here’s the problem. I finally figured out how to get GSAK to work – not sure how I did that 😕 The problem is when I go to export to Cachemate file it looks like it is working UNTIL I hotsync and then it simply does nothing. Someone told me it had to do with the PDB files.
I have a computer tech offering to put XP on my computer and get rid of Vista, but have also heard that this can cause problems. 🙄 Anybody else heard this before I make the investment to buy a copy of XP?
Buy Windows XP as fast as you can!!!
Seriously, It will be much better than Vista.
Microsoft is going to end of life vista and move on Shortly in the near future anyway. They realize it is a failed system.

I’ve been running with Vista for about 4 months, and have had no problems with it so far. As far as Cachemate, the cmconvert works just as it does on my XP machine. I haven’t been able to get the Palm Sync stuff to work, so I just transfer my .pdb file to an SD card. It’s an annoyance, but a minor one.
Plucker has always been a little flaky for me.
I just came across a plucker-equivalent: Sunrise XP
This appears to work pretty well and it is fast.
Give it a try.
