I have been using CacheMate for about a year now and it is great. I have a VERY old palm IIIxe and it is slow merging and searching when you get over 750-1000 per database. I solved that by having each area in a different database and it works fast. The newer units probably do not have this problem. It is a very stable program and I have only had one crash and it was with an older version.
Then I use GSAK to upload same pocketquery to GPS, but I usually filter out the 4-5 difficulty caches.

I have run into a problem with my GPS filling up with lots of caches, it only holds 1000. Does anyone know of an easy way to mass delete old waypoints for a Garmin Ledgend?

Go to the Trip Computer page on your Legend. Use the thumb stick to highlight the Options Menu on-screen button, and press it in to display the Options Menu.

Use the menu to choose “Delete all waypoints”. Instructions here: http://www.garmin.com/manuals/eTrexLegend_OwnersManual.pdf
