Hmm. I tried the same thing and got the same result. The PQ did not exclude caches with the “No dogs” attribute. Weird.

Sorry, I don’t actually have an answer for you ~ maybe somebody else will. If not, you may have to take this to groundspeak.

Don’t feel bad – my ‘New Cache’ notifications are coming at MINIMUM a day late.

    That REALLY sucks.

I had same problem before and thought I did something wrong as well. Seems that this might not be the case. Also, My PQ are coming a day late or not at all.

Can’t help on the Dogs attribute, but for the late queries, there is a trick you can do.

Understand that at Midnight Pacific Time, all the queries due for the specific day get queued up in order of when the they were last generated (the ones generated most recently are at the back of the line). If someone requests a new or existing query during the day, it will “jump the line” as if the place where it would have gone had it been requested at Midnight. This means that a NEW query will be processed immediately. So the trick is to always be requesting a new query or at least one that hasn’t been run in a while if you want it right away. So, when you want the information, rather than waiting for your scheduled query to run, just create a new query for “today”, then delete it as soon as it runs. You can still keep the scheduled queries for regular updates, but if you want something right away, you have to create it right before you need it.

My technique is slightly different. I usually don’t care when I get my PQs, but for those times when I do, I keep a second backup copy that is rarely run. When I need one quickly, I just activate the backup and it comes right away.

The late queries could also be caused by Yahoo.com, if that’s who you have for your email.

I was using Yahoo as my mail server and my PQs and instant notifications were coming hours, even up to a day, late. According to gc.com the PQs were run, but they weren’t showing up in my email. In the Groundspeak forums there are topics about Yahoo throttling the mail from geocaching.com, delaying delivery for Yahoo users and sometimes creating a big enough backlog to slow all outgoing email.

I just recently switched to google mail (gmail.com) and so far my PQs are showing up in my mail immediately.

Interesting. I use Yahoo for my geocaching email and my PQs showed up today just like they were supposed to. I have noticed other times though when I don’t get notifications for a while, then they all come at once. It’s not been anything too vital, so it has never bothered me much.

I have noticed issues with PQ’s just last week. I created one and the initial one never came into my e-mail. Never had a problem with it in the past. Hmmmmmm

    UPDATE …

I’m hoping this problem will be fixed … from the GroundSpeak forums others have noticed this too, but have fallen on deaf ears …. http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=158402&st=0&gopid=2779172&#entry2779172

However, I sent in a “trouble ticket” that has not been ignored … I got a reply requesting some examples, so it appears they are checking into it now.

So far this week mine have been coming just fine. Keeping my fingers crossed.

😕 Ok, I don’t get that? Are you saying you use EXCLUDE Attritributes in queries and they work? I’m under the impression that they don’t work for anybody.

Or are you just saying the pocketqueries in general are working for you?

7 months since I pointed out this problem … and they’ve still not fixed it.
