I knew I should have left good enough alone but I jumped in with both feet and updated GSAK to 7.72.56 and my Garmin POI loader to the “for windows_254”

well, this totally hosed my ability to use the macro I had been using to load POI to my nuvi200 using the POI loader v2.5.2 as it is now gone from my computer. at least I loaded it with about 2300 waypoints before getting stupid tonight.

I can’t find a 2.5.2 download and I don’t even know if I can get it to work again if I do. I still have the pilotsnipes macro on GSAK so if anyone can mull through this and see if it can be re-written to utilize the new software I would be able to send the macro.

if anyone is using one of the other macros to load the nuvi or knows an easy way to do it PLEASE let me know. What I really liked about that macro was that it included all the cache page text, hints, and 4 past logs.

I finally took 30 minutes and read through this with my Nuvi in hand. Hard to believe I didn’t do this sooner. What a cool thing to do. I just loaded 750 caches and it only took up 3 MB of space. I think I could put the whole state on here easily.

Thanks for pointing out this cool resource.
