The cache is there alright! Thanks to The Searchers for another great hide in a well off the beaten path location. (Thanks also for letting us claim the title of “First Ever to Find a Cache in Kewaunee County” We know that’s been a covetted title out there in the geocaching community.)
09/29/2003 at 3:32 pm #1745901Now there are two … We placed a cache near Little Scarboro Creek yesterday.
We also found “Scarboro Fair” about 4pm yesterday – What’s Next had already been there.
The Ice Age Travelers09/29/2003 at 3:46 pm #1745902With all the attention this (these) caches have received in a short amount of time, apparantly there’s been a LOT of pent-up demand for caches in Kewaunee County.
10/01/2003 at 12:35 am #1745903When approving some of these caches, I noticed that Kewaunee appears to be the only county that doesn’t have any State Natural Areas in it?
Must be a baron waste land

10/27/2003 at 1:24 am #1745904FYI – We went out to the Scarboro cache today in hopes of a nice hike through this area. When we got there we came across something far more sinister than Geomuggles – We came across Hunting Geomuggles – with GUNS!!! We decided to skip this cache and headed over to other pastures…
In all seriousness – if you try for this cache in the next month or two – make sure you wear blaze orange. You can pick up a blaze orange windbreaker or vest VERY cheap at Fleet Farm – $14-$20. (I’m a hunter as well as a geocacher…)
Amy and I also lived in Kewaunee County for a few years. It’s a great area, but lot’s of hunters. There are some GREAT areas as well. (And don’t forget to slip up “over the border” to Door County and get some Joe Rouer’s burgers!!! LEGENDARY – THE BEST!!!
10/28/2003 at 3:44 am #1745905Joe Rouer’s burgers!!! LEGENDARY – THE BEST!!!
They are very tasty!!!
10/30/2003 at 6:27 pm #1745906Is Joe Rouer’s Bar a family (with kids) type of place, or is it more just your adult type bar? We’ll be in DC for Thanksgiving, and are contemplating dropping by there if we would be comfortable having our kids with us.
Thanks!10/30/2003 at 7:27 pm #1745907This is Wisconsin! All bars are kid-friendly. Seriously, Joe’s is fine for kids, but I rate JJ’s up in Sister Bay as having a better burger.
10/31/2003 at 3:01 pm #1745908…and don’t forget the “Sister Bay Bowl” for corned beef and cabbage on Wednesday’s…!!!
Rouer’s is fine for kids during the day. I always kind of considered it more of a “bar” after dark though… The burgers are exactly like Grandma used to make! Pan-fried in cast iron skillets. Rumor has it that the beef is acutally made up of all the cuts of the cow, that’s why they are so good. Tenderloins, sirloins, chuck roasts, etc.. all ground up. These burgers are to die for…! (and don’t forget the fried onions!
10/31/2003 at 7:38 pm #1745909Just thinking of a burger at JJ’s made me loosen my belt a notch.
Took burger, left tip.
Thanks for the meal.11/05/2003 at 7:50 pm #1745910Kewaunee’s a little far for me to set up caches; my next Mission is to fill in that big gaping hole just east/southeast of Lake Winnebago, not far to my northwest.
That’ll become Hermione Central
11/18/2003 at 3:15 pm #1745911the Green Bay Paddlers make a good point of wearing highly visable clothing in the woods during hunting season.
I have been at Scarboro Creek during hunting season – the cache is not too far from the road – the hunters usually go a lot further in the woods.
I’ll edit the cache page to warn cachers about the hunters and suggest blaze orange clothing. -
