My daughter Helena has a TB we created for her called Helena’s Quest that we dropped for the first time over Labor Day Weekend in 2009. It was picked up by a cacher sometime in September and supposedly dropped in Cuckoo’s nest (GCXZ7Z) on October 25, although they never logged it there correctly so it wasn’t officially listed as being in there. 😡

There have been a number of newbie visitors to that cache since. There have also been a few references of others dropping coins and TBs in there, but nothing is listed. My fear is it was picked up again by someone that doesn’t have a clue what to do with it.

BUT…there is a chance it could still be there just waiting to be rescued. My daughter is very upset that her TB didn’t even make it past the first cache on it’s mission before it disappeared. She wanted us to drive there to see if it was still there, but I don’t know when the next time we’d be able to make it to the Madison area.

If there is anyone in the Madison area or going to be around there who would be willing to take a look in the cache to see if by chance it is still there, you would have a big seven year old fan. 🙂

Thank you in advance from me and Helena (a.k.a. Picklz).

If you didn’t see it in December, unfortunately its probably lost as I suspected. No need to make a special trip smashing ground unless you really feel inspired. Thanks for the update. Looks like this is another sad case of clueless cachers who can’t read or think its ok to steal them.

It wouldn’t bug me so much if the TB my other daughter released on the same weekend didn’t end up missing after one cache as well. Sours me on the whole trackable idea.

Sorry yours have gone missing, that is the exact reason I don’t want to send any out and actually delayed me getting any of my own until just recently.

I’ve heard stories of TB’s being found after a year, so maybe there’s a slim glimmer of hope?

I do have two others out there still in motion. One was last spotted in Iowa and is supposedly in route to Idaho. The other is bouncing around HI and has made it to almost every island which was it’s goal. To be honest, I have little faith I’ll ever see either one again.

This is why I’ve now switched mostly to my two discoverable only now and will probably never do any more until I can figure out a way to put LoJack on them so I can track down the culprits and teach them a lesson. 👿

My favoriite TB made it to exactly one cache before it was picked up by a cacher on their second and last find last May. I’ve written them two friendly reminders, but I haven’t heard back from them.

Every trackable we had out in the wild has gone MIA, we don’t send anything out any more. We do buy coins and such to have discoverable at events but won’t send anything else out.

Your coin in HI maybe retrievable. We are headed there later this year and if it is on the same island as us at the same time I would be happy to grab it. Just let us know what it is and we will watch for it for you

Almost none of ours is in a known location anymore. I think the only one I get logs about anymore is the kangaroo I sent back to Australia. He did make the trip and every once in awhile, I get a log about his latest adventures.

At one point, we sent out a WGA coin, giving it its own gc.com account, to complete the Wisconsin DeLorme for us. It walked off from a cache in Sayner after being moved only once. I do hear the great stories of things returning from the TB grave, but losing so many so quickly has kind of lost its appeal for us. We try for the most part to place any we find into caches that seem to be more remote. The trackables placed in one of our caches seem to have been hit, and it’s not an easy cache, either. Go figure.

Wow. It got a direct ride from WI to HI. Another direct ride would be great! The TB is Pulelehua TB2RKC8. The only island it has left to visit is Lanai. It’s in someone else’s hands now. Don’t know where they will be placing it. At this point, I don’t care if it makes it to Lanai as long as it makes it home.
