I know I have done this before with out up loading it, cuz if I try to up load it, it shows in my gallery and I can’t seem to get a link from Photobucket to work. Been trying HTML code.
So the question is, how to post a pic in a revier note with out up loading it.
The pic contains the cipher to the puzzle.

What if you e-mail the reviewer the photo instead?

    #1922498

Send it to me, Cheezehead. I’ll take care of it for you. 😈

    Heh heh…

I don’t think there’s a way to do this without hosting the image somewhere else and then including the link in the reviewer note. If the photobucket link doesn’t work, a good way of doing this is “burying” the image in the gallery of a long-archived cache of yours where people are unlikely to find it. You can always delete it from that cache gallery after the new cache is published.

I use this method a lot for posting pictures to the forums.

    If that’s not clear…lemme know…

The links wont work and it doesn’t matter if you post in on an old cache page, cuz it will still show in your profile pictures.

No, really. I can do this for you.
Send me a “fake” of what you want uploaded (if you don’t trust me), and I’ll see what I can do.
(Then when I get it to work, you can send me the real one, and I’ll get that one uploaded.)
(Then, for a fee, I’ll tell you what I did.)
But it’s basically what GR said, just a matter of finagling things to get it right.

How about I just send the pic to the reviewes if they ask for it….

You don’t actually need to host it anywhere. Just create the reviewer note and submit it, then on the cache page, click the “upload a photo for this log” link and upload the file to the log. Note that this is definitely the preferred method for uploading graphic information to the reviewers, as this information is deleted automatically when the cache is published.

Yup! Been there done that. BUT…..the image IS IN the profile gallery till it the log is deleted. So anyone who looks at the gallery can see the image and the solution. But I think I figured it out.

Let me try again. If you use a REVIEWER NOTE, it will be automatically deleted when the cache is published, so no one will see it. If you use a NOTE, it will not be deleted when the cache is published. You will know you created a reviewer note if the icon looks like Signal the Frog. That log will be deleted automatically. If the icon looks like a piece of paper, you have a regular note, which will stay. The reviewer note logs are specifically designed for communicating with the reviewers. The regular notes are for communications with everyone. So…puzzle spoilers for the reviewers go in the reviewer notes. Pictures of the scenery, your dog finding the cache or whatever, go in the regular notes.

LOL! Yes, I know this. BUT pictures in reviewer notes STILL SHOW in the the profile Gallery. So the picture is stitting there brfore it is in cue or during cue. I brought this up on the GC. forums awhile ago but nothing came about it. I had a fellow cacher contact me and asked me what so and so puzzle was. I asked them how I they knew about it and they said it was in my pictures and by golly it was!

you would have been ok with it in your gallery, most likely … until you’ve drawn this attention to yourself … hee, hee

Cheesedoodle – Why is it in your gallery? If you don’t want it there, don’t put it there.

So if it’s not in your gallery and not hosted anywhere, it should at least be on your hard drive, right? And if that’s true, then follow Deejays other advice.

Maybe its me that don’t be gettin’ any of this???

I didn’t put it in my gallery! And NO, someone else spotted it. Don’t all pictures that are posted with a log end up in YOUR personal profile gallery? When was the last time you looked at YOUR gallery pictures?

I’ve HAVE done eveythinfg Team Deejay said to the letter. The image ends up posted in my profile gallery also.

I see 16 images in your gallery dated between 2/6/07 and 1/20/09. I cannot view the 1/20/09 image. It says:

Attention! You cannot see logs for unpublished listings.
