Apparently it has always been that way. They tell me it is intentional. If I had a dollar for every time a developer told me that….Sigh….
Well than maybe we should request that it be ‘intentionally’ changed to not do this 😉
This discloses certain information about unpublished caches that a cache owner may not want made public.
Should I post a request on the website forum? Something like this is probably not likely to get picked apart as much as other requests that go out there. But maybe if I post it someone will speak up about why in the world this would be desired functionality the way it is!
02/22/2010 at 3:54 pm #1922527That would be good, but it would be better if you complained directly by phone, email, etc.
02/22/2010 at 5:54 pm #1922528Ok … here’s a solution …
1. Open a new geo account, this makes you an unknown person.
2. Start a new cache as that new geoperson, but don’t release it for approval (so it’s a “photo dumping” cache) and attached a photo.
3. Reference that picture to the reviewers.
… How would us viewers find the picture … we don’t know what geocacher name to look for to find the picture attached to an unapproved cache.

…and now the reviewers have a cache floating in their queue permanently too. Not sure how they’re going to like that.
