Please join us at the WGA Pre-Picnic CITO Event (Cache Page: GC2CWF5) at Burt Morris Park in the City of Adams, WI. The CITO event will run from 8 – 10 am. We will have free Coffee and Donuts and bottled water for all attendees. The hosts for this event are sandlanders and -cheeto-

The pre-picnic CITO event continues the WGA’s efforts to sponsor or host regional CITO events around the entire state of Wisconsin.

If we don’t make it right at 8am can attend this “event” any time during that 2 hr time span. I’d like to get the boys involved in it as an act of service, but I’m not quite sure we’ll make it over as a group by 8am. If not, we’ll have to put CITO events on the back burner until the little guy is older. (which is fine. I’m looking forward to more of these types of events as teachable moments for them.) Thanks for the clarification!

I would think that you would be welcome at any time you made it to the CITO. Your older son might be able to handle a longer time picking up trash, but not the three-year-old. If you got there with enough time to explain to them what was going on and what they should do to help out, and to have them go out for a bit, I think they would get the picture. Of course, the donuts might be all gone if you get there too late…

At the Appleton CITO that I have run for the past 3 years, we’ve had all ages of kids attend and help out and many families pushing strollers. What better way to teach than to set a good example!

Feel free to stop by anytime.

Another benefit of attending the Pre-picnic CITO event:
While it’s not the focus, this is a geocaching event that you get a “find” for and it’s a unique Icon if you haven’t yet attended a CITO event. It’s also a unique Icon if you want to work on a “busy day” challenge where you have to find a certain number of different Icon type caches in a day.

If you have not yet attended a CITO, the reason I say this is not the focus is because you will realize just how good a deed you have done by helping pick up trash. It’s a wonderful feeling of accomplishment and pride. That’s why I’ve personally been so involved with CITO since I have started Geocaching.

Door prizes have been added to the CITO event. We’ll draw prizes at roughly 9:45am. Must be present to win.

We’ll also have juice for the non-coffee drinkers in the crowd as well.

Please join us if you can!
