Mark your calendars Nov 17th 11:00 that’s a week from Saturday folks! Pringle Nature Center in Bristol Woods County Park in Bristol, Wisconsin.

We’re going to have some interesting topics.

The Pringle Nature Center staff is doing a demo for newbies on what geocaching is all about (a Geocaching 101 kinda thing). with a few temps

They’re also doing a demo on Orienteering and how it can help you in geocaching – ever have dead batteries?

I’m doing a hands-on demo on hiding geocaches. We’ll explore different camouflage techniques and look at a bunch of different containers. I’ve got a lot of containers that you can camo and take home to hide. Have an object you’d like to see how ‘ol Rogheff would make into a geocache? Bring it along.

There’s also several brand new geocaches that’ll be activated the day of the event.

    Lunch is available.

Wouldn’t most cachers be afraid to go into the woods that day (unless they are already in the woods deerhunting on opening day?).

OK, what gives? This is the second Event Cache in a row that I’ve hosted with people making comments about concerns for safety from hunting.

Why do people think I’d host an event in a hunting area?

There is NO hunting allowed at Bristol Woods Park! This is a County Park with a Nature Center and Nature trails frequented by Elementary School kids.

There’s no need to get upset. My comment was made in jest. 😀

Around here, the local economy practically shuts down around the deerhunting opener. Except for a few shopping sales for “deerhunting widows” there are NO events happening on that day. Nonhunters wouldn’t dare walk in the woods around here that day. That was the primary reason that I even made my post.

Even I will be out in the woods next Saturday morning so I will have to forgo attending your event.
