Anyone else having any problems running cartridges on an Oregon 550?
We ran through the WiG cartridge in Redgranite the other day without any problems. Today we tried to run the Berlin Home tour cartridge and after about the third screen the unit shutdown completely. Fired it up again and the same thing happened. Being sane, and not trying the same thing and hoping for a different result, I swapped out the batteries and fired it up for the third time. Got shut down again.
Went home and deleted the cartridge and downloaded it again from WiG website but still got shut down.
Looked at the WiG website to see if there was a new/patch download for the Garmin and could not find anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

12/29/2010 at 5:11 am #1941050I know that when we had a large group of folks together to do the Berlin Home Tour, all the carts crashed. I don’t know if anyone got it to run correctly. It may not be your unit but the cart itself. Maybe CJ can chime in on this as he is from Berlin and may have a better grip on the status of the program from Weathernowcast.

12/29/2010 at 12:57 pm #1941051I’ve reached out to Weathernowcast this morning. As a programmer it sounds like a “rebuild” might be the first step on this one. I don’t have a Garmin player, but do have the iTouch with PIGO and am going to give that a whirl to see how it goes with this cartridge.
12/29/2010 at 8:02 pm #1941052There was a big group in West Bend this fall running the pharmgirl’s whereigo. It seems like a allot of the Organ’s would crash on that one also. The Colorado seemed to run it just. That was just observation that was seen at the time. Right or not I don’t know.

12/30/2010 at 12:51 am #1941054My experience is exactly the same as GLS’s. I use an Oregon 300. We’ve done all the WIGs in the state except the brand new one, and a few in other states, too.
12/30/2010 at 12:58 am #1941055I did a walkthrough of the Berlin Walking Tour cartridge this afternoon using my iPod Touch and the Magellan ToughCase (as the GPSr). The cartridge itself ran fine inside the PIGO application except the pictures didn’t show. This app uses the Pocket PC version of the cartridge.
