In Bartrod’s case, he is having issues getting approval to have the cache published. So that’s fine to have that unactivated cache page sitting there saving the spot for him.
But if some seldom seen cacher is going to “save” some hiding spots for months via unactivated cache pages, I call that cyber squatting. Let someone else have the spot if he is not gonna use it, right? I wonder how many other hiders got turned down because a spot was being saved in a certain area but not used.
04/24/2013 at 1:03 pm #1969775Todd- when I have been working on a cache and another hits up the same area, the reviewers send out a nice email asking me to either publish or archive as another would like the location. I ended up archiving my unpublished cache.

04/07/2014 at 12:22 am #1969776Can you believe it??? It finally got published today… GC1VRZM …it would have been 5 years in July that I first pursued a cache placement here. Last week, I got “the word”. It’s gotta be a record!!! :bartrod:
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
04/07/2014 at 12:56 am #1969777When I ran for Assembly, this was one of the places my wife and I “had” to stop by because she thought it was so interesting! Too bad it took 5 years, I would’ve missed being by there by a year since I last ran in 2008, but it is a great spot!
The best sig is no sig.

04/07/2014 at 2:03 am #1969779Nice retro GC number on that cache. 😉
04/07/2014 at 2:46 am #1969780This one is now on my must do list. A little out of our zone, but we will definitely take a slight detour on our next trip to the lake to get this one. And it even has a silo.
04/07/2014 at 3:05 am #1969781I know I’m out of touch with geocaching when I see the GC code is now 5 letters/digits long (not including the GC).
Congrats, Rod.
04/07/2014 at 3:08 am #1969782it was over 45 miles from home by road. we were busy this weekend unpacking from vacation, and just did not feel like getting back in the car for a ride.
