Puzzler&burrgirl beat me to 3,000 last night. When they hit 2,000, I shot off an e-mail expressing my belief that I would beat them to 3,000. At that time, I was about 250 caches behind them, but my average finds per day was such that I thought I could pull it off. Well here we stand today and I’m still 238 finds behind them. I think my challenge lit a fire under the venerable Mr. Puzzler and he was not about to let the likes of me get the best of him. I think I’ve been playing too nicely with Puzzler and I need to start getting evil in order to beat them to 4,000.
For those who may have read Puzzler&burrgirl’s log; Boyd is the one who has brought much pleasure to Puzzler’s pants. I wouldn’t get within 20 feet of Puzzler’s pants if my life depended on it and it is a true testament to Burrgirl’s dedication that she would. Additionally, anyone who assigns a name to their tiger striped thong is not right in the head and extreme caution should be taken when and/or if you run across Puzzler on the trail.
For those who don’t know; Puzzler and Boyd the Gnome were part of an unholy love triangle. However, Boyd had eyes for a local female cacher, whose name I shall not mention to protect her reputation, and poor Puzzler was left in the lurch. Thankfully, Burrgirl has forgiven Puzzler for his moment of weakness and they put the past behind them to surge to this milestone cache.
Congrats on the milestone!! May you keep your car on the road and the Gnomes out of your pants as you push past your next 1,000 finds.
06/26/2008 at 4:46 am #1891381Congrats to Puzzler and Burrgirl. The best part of watching your quest to 3000 was reading of your adventures and mishaps in your logs. Any time you found one of mine I couldn’t wait to see what you wrote and I was never dissapoinyed.
06/26/2008 at 2:47 pm #1891382Congrats to you both! And Boyd will be back as soon as he has recovered from surgery. Poor little guy lost both his legs in a climbing accident. After his long road to recovery, I think it’s due time for he and Boydina to finaly “meet”. We’ll just have to avoid telling the other woman in his life. 😀
06/26/2008 at 3:07 pm #1891383Grats! I can’t even wrap myself around 3,000 finds. We’re 1% of the way there, so watch out!!
