Congratulations on the 5000 finds on what sounds like a very memorable cache.

Congratulations, Russ & Sandy, on your milestone! I concur with Mr. Greenthumb: I, too, enjoy reading your logs! May you continue to enjoy the trek to the caches, and may they be without incidents. 😉

Blah, blah, blah…..and all that rot. You guys need to stop blowing wind up Puzzler’s backside. Have you seen the size of Russ’ head? Sandy will have to add an extra tie-down to keep him from floating off.

Anyway, I don’t think the 500 or so caches Russ has found while wearing only his tighty-whities should be allowed. I know there is nothing in the rules that state cachers are required to wear appropriate clothing, but there should be some kind of penalty for poor fashion sense and utter disregard for the poor little woodland creatures.

I remember the first time I saw Puzzler streaking through the woods with Burrgirl (fully clothed) doing her best to keep up. Every sixth step, Russ yelled “Mommy” and leaped into the air. His ability to leap rather large dead-falls was actually quite impressive and I knew that any attempt to run away would be futile. Standing still, showing no fear, and extending my hands over my head, to make me appear larger than him, was my only option. He just side-steeped me and kept on running. To his defense, all of the micro caches in Racine and Kenosha counties are enough to push the sanest of men over the edge. I’ve come to realize Russ is actually quite harmless, so none need fear if you spot him in the woods. He actually has quite the nose for finding caches and his trusty guide (Sandy) does a wonderful job of keeping him from running into traffic.

With the increasing number of micro and puzzle caches, I fear there is no end in sight for Milwaukee counties most prolific streaking cacher and the next 5,000 cache finds will be quite entertaining to say the least.

Well, wasn’t this the sweetest thing. Thanks to everyone for their warm wishes. I guess we need to visit this site more often than once a year. Sandy and I were quite touched by the outpouring of congratulatory messages.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I should clarify that the milestone we have reached is for 5,000 LOGS WRITTEN, not actually found. My strategy from the beginning has been to read through the publications near our home and then write a nice “FOUND IT” log. I guess it would be interesting to actually go out in the woods and find the caches, but that could take years and a whole lot of effort. Over the past 3 and 1/2 years, we may have done that about 80-85 times, (we don’t really keep track of those numbers) and that has been quite exhausting.

It was especially nice to read that some of you enjoy reading our logs. Rest assured that we will continue to focus our energy to writing more and more of them. As long as you keep hiding those caches, we promise to keep logging those finds. If the fates are kind and our wrists hold out, who knows, perhaps we can reach the magical 10k mark. Wish us luck.
