Not sure if the requirements for WSQ caches are documented anywhere or not.
There are several small cemeteries I would like to hide a cache in. However tracking down the current owner via land records, explaining what geocaches are, and asking for permission seems unlikely to succeed.
If I hide a cache near a cemetery, does it still qualify for WSQ? For example in a stop sign next the graveyard, in a tree across the street, anywhere near the cemetery that doesn’t require getting permission of the owner.
Hi. There is no ‘governing body’ that determines what is or isn’t a WSQ hide. I have one that is not on cemetery grounds, and therefore didn’t need permission from the managers of the cemetery. Many others I have found over the years are close to, but not in, the cemetery. The exception would be ones that are not puzzle or multicaches, those have all be on the grounds and had permission.
Do any of the folks here with more experience on the approval side want to weigh in?
