This is not a geocaching event, but it is a chance to visit Roche-A-Cri State Park to experience some fall fun. The leaves in central Wisconsin are starting to turn, and it should be a great weekend to do some caching. The park’s main entrance will be closing after next weekend, so this would be a good opportunity to park close to most of the RAC caches to do them, AND the park entrance fee is being waived for the day if you don’t have a sticker on your vehicle.
Again, this is NOT a geocaching event, but you are welcome to join in the fun and do a bit of caching on the side. Here’s the official info:
Saturday, October 3–Roche-A-Cri State Park Fall Festival (by the Friends group)–Friendship, WI–1:00-5:00 p.m. No park sticker required on this date. Games, activities, food ($), campfire and s’mores, horse-drawn hayrides, informational program at the petroglyphs @ 2:00 p.m. Main entrance to the park is still open (till 10/12/15), camping is still available. The leaf color is starting to show, although it won’t be spectacular from the top of the mound (via the 303-step stairway) till the oaks turn. Thirty miles north of the Dells, just south of the Highway13/21 intersection.
