Do you have something to say but have nobody to listen? Or maybe you have nothing in particular to say but enjoy an audience.
Here’s a place you can fill with lots of words and get them out of your head.
Could be philosophical or total nonsensical. You may get answers or you may find others have the same thoughts.
Let’s have fun and not get political here. The really deep stuff can go to Facebook.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

07/11/2016 at 10:08 am #2050702I have an interesting experience: Did you ever sit in a car with damaging hail hitting all around you and the car?
After finding South Dakota’s oldest cache: GC87F Roxiemama and I talked with a fellow cacher which delayed our leaving the parking lot, then went down the road a bit for a cache hidden in a mine, when the storm hit. At first just rain, but then I was notice hail stones exploding when they hit the ground. So back in the car to wait it out. After a few hit the car with a “bang!” I nosed the car under a pine tree and then the heavens broke lose and it was a long banging on the car for about 20-30 minutes. Broken windshield and lots of dimples on the top and side of the rental car! This storm made the national news.2 days later, we were caching in the Castlewood Canyonlands SE of Denver and found remaining hailstones tucked in the rock crevices from the same storm. So our location wasn’t the only hail area from the same storm.
In a way, I was glad this was not my car, but then I’m not so sure how the insurance and credit card company will eventually work out payment. Time will tell.
Lastly, traveling back through Kansas, we had to make a detour around another hail-damaging storm with 2″ hail near Oberlein, while on our way to Norton, KS for the night.
I’ll take Wisconsin over the open plains storms!

Actually, yes, hail is a lot more common in Colorado, where I grew up. I used to get off the bus early to walk home in the rain (back when the bus driver let kids do this) and it was never fun when the rain turned to hail on my walk home.

So with this whole Pokemon craze going on, it’s unbelievable how many opportunities that have been opened up for me to explain about geocaching. A get a mix of reactions, but mostly that geocaching is much better because there is something physical you get to grab. Our local radio station proprietor has even offered to “help us in some fashion” for promoting our Halloween event this year.

Late this afternoon I spotted a large SUV parked near the house. A couple of young lads were wandering around on the road with smart phone in hand. After a little while they walked over near and then past a P&G cache. At this point I couldn’t be sure ‘Pokemon – Geocache’, after wandering around and past the P&G another four times they finally woke-up to the fact that there was a geocache right in front of them.
Find number 6.
Log : Found it.
07/27/2016 at 1:11 pm #2050965Wouldn’t be EAA week without hot weather! The best thing about this week is the sounds of the jets flying over the house. Could have grabbed some awesome video this morning had I been quicker to the camera!
