Yeah….I never put a front plate on my car either 😆

I received a ticket (not a warning) for no front plate in Madison. While the cop was writing the ticket I counted 8 cars go by without front plates!
Needless to say I was upset. The cop was not too happy with me, when I asked him if he didn’t have anything better to do.Criticizing a cop is an easy way to get a ticket 😉 I assume you didn’t know that was a law to have a front plate. I would think if you would state that to a cop they’d give you a warning.
I’ve never had a vehicle that didn’t have a place holder for a front plate. It would look odd if I didn’t have a plate there at all 😉
09/21/2006 at 6:06 pm #1765883I believe Wisconsin was going to drop the front plate awhile ago like allot of states have. what I heard was there was a dangerous person that they actually caught because of the front plate(they saw the car parked in a parking lot). It may seem silly but there is obviously reasons for having it.

Ooooooooh, then I’m in trouble! I still have the dealer plate holder on my wifes car that was installed by the dealer when we bought the car new. And, we don’t have a front plate on the car at all. It just doesn’t look good. We’ve gotten several warings on both, but the city has yet to follow up on any. Sure, one time I had to bring the car down and show them the plate on the front, but as soon as I got home, ooops, the plate fell off the front again. 8)
I honestly don’t see the point of a front plate. Have you ever been pulled over by a cop thats in front of you???
Huh. There isn’t even a mount for a front plate on our van…

You’re in trouble, Dave. Maybe you should tape the plate in the middle of the windshield.
09/21/2006 at 8:39 pm #1765886Not to disagree. Tape will give up after a time in the sun. What I believe you should do is drill four holes in the windshield and use 3″ bolts to hold the plate on.

Ahh yes, but then we would be back in the same boat with the obstructed view, and a cracked windshield. 😆 We could never drive in Minnesota again.
09/21/2006 at 9:54 pm #1765888Caulk the plate to the hood of the car. Then you have the perfect answer to the problem. The window is free of obstructions and will still keep the rain out.
09/21/2006 at 9:58 pm #1765889I must be getting old … I don’t even feel like getting in on this one 😥
09/22/2006 at 12:05 am #1765890What was the topic again? 😀
09/22/2006 at 2:42 am #1765891did you also know it is illegal to have lights under your car or around the license plate in the state of Wisconsin i found this out when i was driving a tow truck and was called to impound a car because the driver was being arrested for disorderly conduct for yelling at the cop because he was getting a ticket for it and for speeding
09/22/2006 at 4:41 am #1765892As for the license plate… whatever happened to the “Handymans Secret Weapon”???? Duct tape! I mean, we use it for everything else, right??
