Hey thanks for posting this one. I am actually going through Montana this summer and may possibly be able to fit this into our trip. I will see what I can do. 🙂
I noticed that there are hardly any EarthCaches out there. I think they just are a lot more popular around here than they are in other parts of the country.
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!

Just remember to bring along your horse and be prepared to ride a “bunch” of miles to get to GZ! 😉
No kidding! 😆 Way to be specific there in the description. Actually, I have been googling and I can’t get much information on this lake. Maybe it is just too obscure to get to it after all. Too bad, that would be one FTF to be proud of!

Well, I zoomed in on some topo maps and found a pack trail that leads close to Fritter Lake. Still some off-trail (quarter of a mile) at the end, but as the crow flies, it’s about 6.5 miles from a camp near the highway. Then there was another route that maybe a 4WD could take partway, and that still was about 2.75 miles from the cache, as the crow flies.
So I say hook up with an outfitter for a fishing trip to Fritter Lake, or else rent a crow.
