I have posted a few logs for caches that have been done out of state but they do not show up on the Recent Logs like others do. Is this because I am logging them from out of state? Do they only get “harvested” if they are posted from Wisconsin based connections? It’s not a big deal, just want to know why.

I regularly post out of state finds from the area I find them in and have them show up in the recent logs.

I just noticed that the caches that were published today did not show up in the recent logs so must have been a glitch in the system.

I see out of state logs from other Wisconsin geocachers showing up on the Recent Logs page today. Maybe Dave thinks you’re looking for Lonely Caches out of state and he’s somehow blocking youto protect his lead.

I’m not sure if this is right, but i noticed that you do not have GC.com profile icon next to your name. I think that has something to do with it also. Cuz I noticed it picked up Costie’s log in Florida.

yeah, i beleive I read before that on your WGA profile page you need to put in your GC.com username and the link to your profile page. it has picked up my out of state caching.

thanks for the info. I have edited my GC.com profile link to my WGA profile. I guess I will have to get out caching tomorrow to see if it works!!

Strange that that profile field is optional if it is needed for this application.

Yes, you need to specify your gc.com profile link to allow the log harvester to grab your out of state logs.

We found using the link to be more reliable, as you could enter in your gc.com username slightly differently on the WGA site (i.e. zuma not zuma!, Bandits not bandits, etc.) and the harvester would not pick them up. Once you have entered a good profile link, you know with absolute certainty we will be able to find your logs. As an added bonus, scanning by profile links is significantly faster for the harvester to execute as well…
