I just went by that pizza place on Highway 44 on the way to Green Lake. They have the best pizza.
Christiano’s (Green Lake, Wautoma, Oshkosh)
Yup….that is the place. Such good pizza!

Ironworks (formerly Dodge Inn) in Marinette.
Google all 3 for address. I’m too lazy to do it myself 😛

Most of the Longtail caches are not winter-friendly…but I’d bet that Shoot’s is 😆
One word, snowmocaching!

The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.

Yeah, but most of the caches are still not winter-friendly, Chris. If you’d like to do them in the summertime, I have a boat…much more fun. Hmmm…can you get to Shoot’s by water???

I’m told a shovel works great for digging in the snow, and also hitting your caching buddy over the head if he finds it first. :p

I guess that would be more fun, and I’m still a little bit leary about going out on ice even though it’s been five whole years since my Baird’s Creek incident. I’ll let you take me by boat only if you promise not to throw my Hodag TB overboard.

Unless we have another flood of biblical proportions, no.
When I was scoping out Longtail, I came up with these coords for a good launch point for boats: N 44° 37.900 W 088° 00.876
If you’re going snomocaching, there’s a spot near GC2TKFG.

02/10/2014 at 6:51 pm #1903617ks9wi asked me about taking him out there some time…maybe we could mount an expedition one day this summer, Chris. And I promise that you will get wet so don’t bring the Hodag along.

02/11/2014 at 2:51 am #1903618I’m concerned with getting wet only if I’m fully surrounded by water, not so much if I’m in a boat. . .unless it’s sinking.

08/08/2014 at 10:43 pm #1903619Sorry for the cross post between two regions, but this might be right on the border between NE and NC. Last weekend before going to grab my first three souvenirs, I stopped at a place called Grudgeville Pub & Grub just south of Langlade. I had been there once before, and it has the typical out in the woods bar feel. Even so, they have a decent selection of beer. The burgers there are excellent too.
If you’re coming from the north, the place comes up on you quick. The coords are:
N 45 10.846
W 088 43.733-The Happy Hodag!

10/24/2014 at 11:32 pm #1903620Yet another recommendation, I would file this under “Better loosen up that belt!” If you’re ever up in Lakewood, I would highly recommend Anderson’s Supper Club. I just came from there and had their Friday night fish, and they give you a generous size fish, and you can get a heap of fries with that if you like. The service was pretty decent too. The coords are: N 45° 18.075 W 088° 32.543

10/28/2014 at 11:41 am #1903621Is Anderson’s the former Club 32, on the north side of Lakewood?
10/30/2014 at 1:56 am #1903622Yes it is.

10/30/2014 at 2:28 am #1903623I also have been at Andersons, the food and service is excellent. Prime Rib is great, but do not get the King you will never finish it. The BBQ ribs on Sat are also very good.
02/02/2015 at 12:54 pm #2034929Was caching the bear bait series and ended up in Wabeno for lunch…would recommend Pichotta’s Bar and Grill…good menu and good food.

06/14/2015 at 9:23 pm #2040554We had an anniversary dinner across the river from Marinette at Berg’s Landing. Great meal, great service, great view. This is an upper end restaurant, not a burger joint. But for a special occasion it was perfect. Highly recommended. And keeping some WI content in this post, we ate lunch and found caches south of the river, which were all good. cYa, Chris and Jim
06/22/2015 at 2:44 pm #2040744This is not exactly a place to eat, although there is food there–Winemaker’s Daughter in Manawa. It is a wine tasting place with appetizers. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with plenty of conversation sections defined. The decor makes the best use of the natural building. Even the restroom is charming! http://www.winemakersdaughter.com/
