I am sorry, folks. There is no way I can keep up with all the caches now being logged. I will continue to watch your activity, but because caching volume has grown to such a huge level, I am missing logs. I can’t count every log for every cacher any longer. This means I am going to miss some centennial finds. This means, that we will need your help to acknowledge these milestones for one another.
We started these acknowledgements about 10-11 months ago. At that time there were less than 300 active Wisconsin cachers and fewer than 400 caches to hunt. Today, I count over 900 active cachers and we are approaching 1200 caches in the state. I have been tracking this activity on a dial-up system, without an automated script. Now I need to get my life back and do some caching like everybody else.
You now have to step up to the plate and help in the effort to acknowledge achievement and welcome newcomers as you spot them. I will appreciate this effort.

10/27/2003 at 11:27 am #1735912Well Beast,
It was just a matter of time… Truely an amazing effort on your part to date!!
So, with that, I say to you “Kudos, Accolades, and Great Thunderous Applause”…
Does that have the same effect when someone else says it??
A job well done!! A big thumbs-up to you!!
Thanks!
Team Flushingrouse
10/27/2003 at 3:35 pm #1735913It was great of you to keep up for so long. We completely understand that you’d like to do something in you free time other than keeping a watchful eye on the rest of us.
10/27/2003 at 4:20 pm #1735914Thanks for all your hard work! I can imagine that if it got any bigger, you’d have no time for caching!
Hmm… looks like an opportunity to remind everyone about the stats page. If everyone keeps their numbers updated there, then hitting century marks would be a cinch to spot!
10/27/2003 at 5:26 pm #1735915Ray, just to let you know, you’ll always count with me.
10/27/2003 at 6:15 pm #1735916Thanks for all your efforts Ray!
I am sure that the reason you cannot keep up is directly porportional to the number of people you have motivated to go caching.
Great things you have done for all of us.10/27/2003 at 6:21 pm #1735917Thank you both sooooo much for all that you both do for this organization! We appreciate everything you do…and look forward to meeting up with you more on the trails now that you will be able to cache more and stats less…lol…thanks again!
WISearchers10/27/2003 at 11:19 pm #1735918As the others have mentioned, thank you for being such a leader and advocate for encouraging and recognizing others in this sport. I was surprised you were able to keep full-time jobs with all I see you do for the organization. I’m glad you’re letting us know instead of losing your life to counting our caches.
Thank you, thank you! We’ll see you on the hunt!
10/28/2003 at 12:51 am #1735919Don’t you dare have any regrets Beast! I have the utmost respect for all that you have done & will never forget the wonderful welcome you both gave me after I had first joined the WGA. I look forward to seeing you at each and every event you attend. Thanks so much for everything!
10/28/2003 at 3:40 am #1735920Thanks for all the hard work you 2 did. Hope to see you on the trails.
10/28/2003 at 2:32 pm #1735921REGRETS! There should be no regrets! Thank you Ray for all that you have done. You have motivated so many of us to do things that we would have only dreamed possible. The fact that this sport is growing so fast is no reason for you to have any regrets. We know that this does not mean that you are completely done with us and we look forward to your insightful posts. In fact this will free you up to do more caching, so we will all be looking for those BIG numbers to start adding up.
Thanks again for all that you have done for so many of us.Bill & Steph
10/28/2003 at 4:59 pm #1735922Thanks for the work of keeping track and recognizing milestones as long as you did. We all appreciate it and your logs and will continue to look forward to your regular replies and logs.
10/30/2003 at 1:08 am #1735923Our warmest thanks for all you’ve done for us and everyone else. From your invitation to join the WGA to keeping track of all those hundreds of logs, your efforts are an inspiration to us all. If you hadn’t of done such a great job making all of us feel so welcome there probably wouldn’t be the growing number of people that there is now. Enjoy your well deserved free time, and watch you own numbers grow. You’re tops with us! Pat & Bob
11/01/2003 at 5:37 am #1735924Ray, I think you’ve done a masterful job. Thanks for all you have done. Hope to see you on the trail.
11/01/2003 at 5:54 am #1735925Your dedication to WI Geocaching is outstanding. We will never forget the e-mail we received from you after we logged our first find. It was very unexpected but so nice. The nicer part was meeting you at the Geo-campout in May. Our little girl was quite taken with you. We think it is your welcoming spirit. You set a nice benchmark for all of us to aspire to. We see that in logs where people comment about introducing new people to the sport or teams that cache together. Be proud of all you have done for WI-Geocaching and enjoy your time caching with NO REGRETS. Hope to see you on the trail.
