Just a reminder that Saturday, July 24th is the Explore the City of Greenfield Parks Event sponsored by the Greenfield Parks & Recreation Department.
Several temporary caches will be up for the event in our City parks. We will meet back at Konkel Park for lunch, followed by drawings for prizes.
I have been able to get a couple of donations for the event from area businesses and organizations. For those attending the event, Chipotle Mexican Grill in Hales Corners is donating coupons and offering a free meal for the weekend. More details will be given at the event. The YMCA also donated three gift certificates, one for a free youth sports class, one for a free swim class, and one for a free fitness class. These will be hidden in a cache for first finder prizes. There will also be a few Jeep travel bugs floating around.
Check out the event page for more details. If you are planning to attend, please post your note by Thursday, July 22nd so we have a head count for food at our concessions. You do not have to be a City of Greenfield resident to attend. We invite cachers from all directions to attend. Thanks for supporting our parks.

P.S.-Plans are underway for a night-time event for fall on Halloween weekend (Oct. 30th). Details will be available in September.
An update on the event. Today, I received a donation from the Wisconsin Athletic Club. They donated a $300 gift certificate for a 3-month family metro membership (for non-members). This will be given away as a door prize during lunch. There will also be several one-week membership passes hidden in one of the caches. These are good at any of the WAC locations.
I also retrieved the Going to an Orioles Game Moving Cache. I placed a Jeep TB along with a couple of others. I will be bringing this to the event as a bonus cache to find. I will ask one of the participants to move it along and hide it somewhere.
For those attending the event, don’t forget to bring your cell phone and digital camera. There is a webcam cache and locationless cache for you to complete in the series of caches placed.
For those bringing a dessert to pass, we are currently at about 30 participants, however that could be higher within the next couple of days. We do have access to the refrigerator in the concession stand if you are bringing something that needs to be kept cold.
Our schedule will include gathering between 7:30-8:00 at the park for registration, followed by caching. Lunch will be served at the concession stand beginning at 11:30. Door prize drawings will be at 12:30. The event will end at 1:00pm.
I also dropped some TB’s and Jeeps on the cache page tonight. Looking forward to seeing fellow cachers there.

Is there any chance of being able to download waypoints before the event?
WhitnallGPS has some great hides planned! We are working on being able to download coordinates. WhitnallGPS has a Garmin Extrex Vista, I have a Rhino and 60CS so those would be the cables.
WhitnallGPS is in class this week so it will be tonight before he can confirm where we are at with this ability.
