Now there is a twist…
If you sign the log and there is no cache did you find it?

Ummm yes….the log was signed. 😉
We just had a situation with one of our caches where a finder, in attempting to retrieve the container, accidentally caused it to fall where it couldn’t be retrieved. We have to take responsibility for the placement, which could have been better, so we told them to go ahead and log the find. They definitely had their hand on the cache.
To me, the location would also play a key roll in allowing it as a find or not. Was the cache location difficult to get to? Did it involve a spectacular view at GZ? If the intent was to bring a cacher to a certain spot, then I would let the smiley stand. If it was a guard rail cache or something along those lines, I would say no smiley.
